Now that you are interested in moving to China, here are some language learning tools that will help you get started. Don't pressure yourself to be fluent in six months. Learning a few simple phrases will help you navigate your way when you arrive.
Tips On Language Learning
COURSES: If you don’t have time to go to class, there are plenty of online courses to choose from.
RESOURCES: Look for apps, courses, flashcard, books, etc. to help introduce you to the language.
IMMERSION: Find a community of people. This can be online or in person. Once comfortable, change your phone to that language. Watch TV (or add subtitles), listen to music and find ways to practice speaking it.
SPEAK OUT LOUD: Get comfortable listening to yourself speak the language, even if you have to talk to yourself. This can help build your confidence when you to speak to people.

Duolingo: Games, read, speak and listen

Tiny Cards: Create your own flashcards
Pleco: Dictionary, flash cards, document reader (translator), audio and character recognition software.
There are many more resources out there, but these are the ones that I currently use and enjoy. I think they are all very efficient and practical for everyday spoken Chinese, not text book Chinese. LOL! Choose the platform that fits your needs. You’ll be surprised at how much you may actually enjoy it.
